Both sizes share the same design and setup. The Lantern 65 produces a 65 cm sphere, while the larger Lantern 90 produces a 90 cm sphere for a broader, softer wrap. Both mount to any fixture with a standard Bowens mount.

Assembly and Setup
Follow these steps to set up your amaran Lantern. The process is identical for the Lantern 65 and the Lantern 90.
- Inspection and Preparation: Take out the lantern softbox and check the overall structure and fabric for any damage. Ensure the elastic cord is securely attached to the standard Bowens mount speed ring, and confirm that all parts are intact and firmly in place without any looseness or damage.
- Installing the Base: Press the base downward so the elongated steel ring installs smoothly and fixes onto the pre-set bolt holes at the bottom of the lantern. Make minor adjustments so the steel ring fits tightly against the bottom of the lantern and remains securely fixed.
- Mounting onto the Light Fixture: Attach the assembled softbox base to the light fixture's lamp head interface (the Bowens mount). Make sure the connection is stable and does not wobble. If needed, use the fixture's locking mechanism to enhance connection stability.
- Adjusting the Frame and Reflective Fabric: Adjust the gap between the frame and the reflective fabric as needed to create a smooth, evenly supported fabric surface. This can be done by slightly adjusting the bending angle of the frame or the tension of the reflective fabric.
- Ensuring Light Sealing: Adjust the Velcro fasteners on the reflective fabric for a tight fit, minimizing light leakage and preventing unnecessary light loss or reflections.
Compatibility
The amaran Lantern mounts via a standard Bowens mount speed ring, so it works with any Bowens-mount light fixture. This includes amaran and Aputure point-source fixtures that use the Bowens mount standard.
